I am frustrated today. My partner and I agreed to take a Vizsla home for the weekend for a “sleep over” to see how he would get along with our Malamute and three cats. We live on 10 acres out in the Columbia Gorge. Well I called the owner today so say that while the dog is adorable and very loyal (loyal is quite the understatement) it was not going to work out. Guess what happened? All of a sudden they are not available to take the dog back, sigh. This dog is quite lovable and obeys rather well and is even house broken, but my god, it does not let you out of its sight. The idea was to get a playmate for the malamute, however the Vizsla won’t go outside unless you are with him. He is a total lap dog and even crawls into bed under the covers. Its like having an oven in bed with you :)
On a happier note, here are a couple of shots of our wonderful 14 month old malamute taken a few weeks ago on Mt Hood. She was up for her first outing skijoring and this summer she will be training with a tire and a pulling cart.

I will get back to the eye candy and other gay stuff later this week. Thanks for letting me vent a bit.

Looking back on this post, I realize I could not have been more wrong about our new Vizsla. I made a judgement call way too soon. He is a total joy in our house and has definitely wiggled his way into our hearts and even our bed.
