Speaking of Star Trek, Imagine that Captain Kirk had a nephew, let’s say we call him Peter Kirk, and this Peter just happened to be both super hot and engaged in a healthy committed relationship with another (male) crew member aboard Jean-Luc Picard’s star ship Enterprise. You think this could work as an episode in the early 90s Star Trek: The Next Generation Series? Sadly, we’ll never find out considering the script itself was shelved before it was ever put to use…
That is until now at least … This clip originates from a Star Trek web-based fan series called Star Trek Phase II. and is taken from the Blood and Fire Pt 1 episode. It’s actually based completely off the original tossed script written by long-time Star Trek screenwriter David Gerrold. Actors Bobby Rice and Evan Fowler play the roles of Lt. Peter Kirk and Alex Freeman respectively, and the episode itself was directed by David.

Thanks for the plug for Star Trek: Phase II. Just FYI, the script is *based* on David Gerrold’s original teleplay for The Next Generation. I re-wrote it for Phase II’s use as an Original Series episode. Peter Kirk was something I added to David’s original story concept.

Dear IcyHot,
The trailer above “The Gay Star Trek Episode” is fantastic. God if only it could truly air, there are so many that I have talked to over the years that just love Star Trek and all of us agree it may have been easier to have been proud to come out of the closet. And not hide in a profession (Roman Catholic Priest) that I loved but knew all to well the hate “our Kind”. I thank God that after having come out years ago and found the same life possible in the Episcopal Church They and I call it “catholic lite”, “All the fun and fulfillment half the guilt.” Anyway now do you know if this story line or episode may be used in the new Star Trek coming out? I can tell you as someone who now counsels young gay men troubled as they come out could really use such a positive example oh I can only pray. Trust I will do just that, sorry I just got a little excited at the prospects. You know if this is still to early to happen in the general public perhaps if someone was willing to “professionally” put it together I’d bet the “Logo” channel mite be interested in such a series. Well, I thank you for posting the video and I hope you won’t think me crazy of silly.
Sincerely
Br. Stephen Buckley O. P. C.
